WHAT CAN BE RECYCLED?

ALL RECYCLABLES (EXCEPT CARDBOARD) MUST BE SEPARATED AND PLACED IN PLASTIC OR PAPER BAGS & TIED

Do Not Use Black Bags for Your Recycling – We need to see what is inside.

Steel cans, glass bottles, hard backed books and Styrofoam are not accepted at the recycling center. These items must be thrown away.

Remember, your recycle day is the day after your regular trash day.

Recyclable	How to Prepare	Put in Recyclables	Put in Trash
Aluminum	Empty- Place in plastic bags	Aluminum Cans
Plastics	Empty & Rinse. Remove & Discard lids. Labels may be left on. Place in plastic bag.	Soda, milk jugs, detergent bottles, etc. Bottles must have neck smaller than the bottom. No petroleum content bottles	Bags, bowls, planters, anything with no neck
Cardboard	Break down flat.	Corrugated cardboard, brown grocery bags, feed bags, card stock boxes, cereal boxes (with waxes paper removed) etc.
Newspaper	Clean&Dry. Place in plastic bags (Dont put out if threat of rain exists.)	Newspapers & inserts	Wet newspaper
Magazines	Clean&Dry. Place in plastic bags (Dont put out if threat of rain exists.)	Magazines, phone books, catalogs	Wet magazines, phone books & catalogs
Fabrics	Clean&Dry. Place in plastic bags (Dont put out if threat of rain exists.)	Old clothing, towels & bedding	Wet or mildewed fabrics, shoes, belts & purses
Electronics	Do not strip parts off items.	Computers, T.V.’s, microwaves, stereo’s, cellphones, iPods, or anything with a computer chip	Stripped off components or broken screens torn apart
